I am a French, American and German artist whose been living in Montreal for the past two years. It is a city that I love because it is so multi-faceted and inspires me every day. Before Canada, I lived in Switzerland for 6 years, (and before that in France and before that in the US) where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology and then another Bachelor, this time in Film and English Literature. I am now studying at the UQAM, doing a graduate degree in Contemporary Puppet Theatre. 

I am a 26 year old artist and crafter, passionate about creation in all its forms, be it painting, drawing, sculpture, felting or puppet-making. My background in biology has allowed me to discover and observe living structures that edge on abstraction. This fascination for the living mingles with my passion for imaginary worlds and creates an artistic universe full of strange, organic shapes. Often, I discover what I am creating as I am creating it: creatures or plants emerge from the abstraction, which I then coax out or modify to become something else. Other times, I delve into the observation of the minutiae of structures surrounding us. In all of my works, I explore lines, textures and colors, always trying to innovate, push back my limits and find myself in unchartered territories. It is the exploration of the infinite possibilities offered by the materials I use and the shapes that surround me, that motivates my work and passion.

Je suis française, américaine et allemande et vit à Montréal depuis deux ans. C’est une ville où je me sens bien, par ses multiples facettes et sa capacité à m’inspirer artistiquement. Avant cela, j’ai vécu 6 ans en Suisse où j’ai d’abord obtenu un Bachelor en Biologie puis un deuxième Bachelor, cette fois en Anglais et Cinéma. En ce moment, j’étudie à l’UQAM pour obtenir un diplôme de deuxième cycle: un DESS en théâtre de marionnette contemporain.

Artiste et artisane de 26 ans, je suis passionnée par la création sous toutes ses formes, que ce soit la peinture, la sculpture, la fabrication de marionnettes ou le feutrage de laine. Ma formation en biologie m’a permis de découvrir et observer des structures vivantes qui frôlent l’abstraction. Cette fascination pour le vivant se mélange à ma passion pour les mondes imaginaires pour créer un univers artistique rempli de formes étranges et organiques. Souvent je découvre ma création en même temps que je l’effectue: des formes animales ou végétales émergent de l’abstraction - des formes que je définis ensuite, ou qui s’effacent au profit d’autres. A d’autres moments, je me plonge dans l’observation minutieuse des structures qui m’entourent. Dans chacune de mes œuvres, j’explore les lignes, les textures, les couleurs, en essayant à chaque fois d’innover, de repousser mes limites et de me retrouver en terre inconnue. C’est l’exploration des possibilités infinies offertes par les matériaux que j’utilise et les formes qui m’entourent, qui me passionne et motive mon travail.
